De Cola's Plumbing & Heating

My condo tenant informed me that the hot water heater leaked and died... Rich at DeCola's was recommended by the condo property management company. Rich responded immediately, scheduled for later the same day. When I ended up stuck on the parkway behind a bad accident, Rich was able to contact property management (they know him) to gain access to the basement room in the secured building where all the water heaters are. When I arrived, technician Nick (who has been with the company for 19 years) was there already having removed the old and began installing the new hot water heater. He was polite, efficient, competent, and cleaned up thoroughly. I did verify BBB profile (A+) and plumbing licenses before calling, after having seen a scathing Google review from an apparent troll. I don't leave many reviews, but based on the excellent service I received, it was the right thing to do. I will be having some other work done at my house and will update my review if anything changes.

DeCola's Plumbing is amazing. I had another company diagnose a drainage issue that flooded our basement. That company used high pressure sales and placed an absurd price on the fix ($5000). Then I called Rich DeCola. He sent Nick, one of their senior people, immediately. Within minutes it became clear that the other company completely was either incompetent or had lied. Nick fixed exactly the problem they said they would fix for one tenth of the price. I trust them and really appreciate how responsive they have been.

I called last night after 5:00pm and left a message. Rich called back within 15 minutes. He sent a plumber out and he was here at 8:30 the next morning. Karl was very nice and extremely helpful and also gave me useful information going forward. I’m very pleased with this company and definitely will continue to do business with them. We replaced our counter tops and sink in the kitchen and used this company to do the plumbing for it. They sent out an apprentice or something - not the salesman person that came out and gave the estimate. After they completed their "work" they left immediately and I discovered the sink was leaking in the cabinet all the way to the cellar. They sent the same guy back the next day to "fix" it but it continued to leak. When I called again they told me it would cost me $175 just to come over and park in my driveway and I would be better off trying to "tighten it myself." The leak continued for several months and destroyed the bottom of my cabinet. I finally called a different plumber and paid $175 to fix the poor work DeCola's did and also replace the innards of a difficultly placed toilet and replace an outdoor Silcock. The new plumber explained the kitchen sink was leaking because Decola's cut the pipe from the new sink drain off too short so it wasn't inserted into the drain pipe below it, so tightening it wouldn't do a thing for the situation. The gasket was also incorrectly placed. Poor workmanship. Poor work ethic. Poor customer service. Do your best to avoid this place that obviously doesn't care about you or their work.

I highliy recommend Rich and his crew! Decolas is able to handle all my plumbing needs!! Accurate estimates! Thorough workmanship! On time daily! Very clean! I will continue using DECOLAS in the future CHRIS CHS
